Shred-a-Thon Keeps Citizens Safe

A bone-chilling cold snap in January forced this year’s Lake Mary Shred-a-Thon to be rescheduled to the warmer weeks of March, but the change in date didn’t stop hundreds of residents from driving through the shredding assembly line to have their important paperwork securely destroyed. Members of the Rotary Club of Lake Mary provided the labor and traffic management in partnership with Shred-It and the Lake Mary Police and Fire Departments. All funds raised went to support senior programs in Lake Mary. In fact, the Shred-a-Thon began as an initiative to protect local seniors from identity theft.
