Jason Zapp is the owner of the Lake Mary-based Squeegee Squad, a full-service company that offers window cleaning and pressure washing throughout Central Florida.

For the past 15 years, the Lake Mary-based Squeegee Squad has been delivering squeaky-clean windows to homeowners and business owners throughout Central Florida.

The highly skilled team at Squeegee Squad consistently delivers professional results, ensuring that all windows are left spotless.

“We guarantee all of our work,” says Jason Zapp, Squeegee Squad owner. “If there is ever any issue, we take care of it.”

Squeegee Squad is a full-service cleaning company offering window, roof, solar panel, and gutter cleaning, as well as pressure washing and commercial high dusting of things like fans and chandeliers. They will clean boat docks, decks, and even outdoor furniture and cushions. They also handle high-rises, although most of their commercial accounts are two- or three-story buildings.

“We’ll clean just about anything,” notes Jason, adding that 60 percent of their work is residential window cleaning.

From the Lone Star State to the Sunshine State

After the Great Recession in the late 2000s, Jason and his wife Cindy relocated from Texas to Seminole County, where she was raised. Jason wanted to get into business for himself and began looking for an opportunity with low barriers of entry so he could immediately get rolling.

He discovered a franchise opening with Squeegee Squad, launched by two brothers in Minnesota in 1999 as Jack and Joe’s Window Cleaning. Jason says the orange and blue company colors – which happen to be the school colors of the University of Florida – intrigued him.

“I figured half of the state would use us,” he laughs, adding that he does have Florida State fans as clients, too.

The franchisor supplied Jason with a marketing package, training, and a list of equipment and cleaning solutions to purchase. Noting there is an art to window washing, Jason says it takes a certain skill to leave a job streak free by using the correct solutions and proper equipment. Squeegee Squad uses deionized water that’s filtered of all contaminants, sodium hypochlorite, and Dawn dish soap in its practice.

On a Winning Streak

A go-getter by nature, Jason started out by knocking on doors for customers and then transitioned to online advertising and marketing. Within eight months, he had purchased a list of clients from a competitor in the area. Today, his business is closing in on becoming a million-dollar entity, having reached $900,000 in sales last year. Today, Jason employs six full-time, fully trained and vetted employees. For large jobs, especially high-rise cleaning, he employs short-term professionals in the area to get the work done.

“We have the most experienced team in Central Florida,” Jason adds. “They have a combined 100 years of experience.”

Jason enjoys the nature of the business, as well as the flexibility of owning his own company, giving him time with his family.

“I can take a Friday off and take my daughter to the zoo,” he says.

Jason and Cindy, who started the business as a team, are raising two daughters, ages 14 and 5, and a 12-year-old son in            Lake Mary.

Squeegee Squad serves Lake Mary, Longwood, Sanford, Heathrow, Lake Monroe, Winter Springs, Geneva, and surrounding areas, as well as Orange, Volusia, and Osceola counties. The company prides itself on arriving on time, completing a job in an efficient and proper manner, and never cutting corners.

“We take good care of our customers,” says Jason. “That is what leads to success.”
