In Seminole County Public Schools, everything we do begins and ends with people: our students, our staff, and our community. As we approach graduation season, that truth becomes especially clear. From the very first day a child enters our classrooms in VPK or kindergarten, every lesson, every relationship, and every opportunity is intentionally designed to lead to that powerful moment of pride, when a student walks across the stage to receive a diploma that is meaningful to them, and they feel prepared for the next phase of their life.

This year, I am proud to share that SCPS achieved a 94.4 percent graduation rate – a 2.6 percent increase over last year – and once again outpacing the State of Florida. This achievement reflects more than academic success; it represents years of thoughtful planning, personalized support, and deep connections that help ensure every student finds their path and crosses the finish line.

Graduation is not a one-size-fits-all destination. It is the culmination of hard and intentional work to support students with diverse goals, whether they are headed to college, the workforce, military service, or specialized training. Our focus remains on ensuring students graduate with confidence, knowing they are capable and prepared to succeed and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Preparing students for life beyond high school requires us to continually evolve. SCPS remains committed to innovation and ensuring our students are truly future-ready. One of the most significant ways we are doing this is through our intentional and strategic rollout of artificial intelligence. We recognize the responsibility that comes with emerging technologies and are approaching AI thoughtfully, grounded in strong guiding principles, clear safeguards, and our foundational human-centric approach. Artificial intelligence will help us enhance the educational journey but cannot replace the expertise and judgment of our teachers and staff.

By integrating AI in developmentally appropriate ways beginning in fourth grade, we are equipping students with critical thinking, adaptability, and digital literacy skills that are essential for navigating a rapidly changing world. Our goal is not simply to adopt tools, but to empower students to use them responsibly, ethically, and effectively.

At the heart of all this work are our extraordinary teachers and staff members. Their dedication, compassion, and belief in our students are what transform programs and initiatives into meaningful outcomes. They build relationships that matter, often going above and beyond to ensure students feel seen, supported, and encouraged.

Equally vital is the unwavering support of our community. Families, businesses, faith-based partners, and civic organizations play an essential role in strengthening our schools and expanding opportunities for students. These partnerships deepen trust, reinforce shared values, and help make SCPS the top choice for education in Seminole County.

As we look forward to celebrating our graduates and seeing the results of another strong academic year come to a close, we remain committed to deepening connections between students and educators, schools and families, and our district and community. When we work together with purpose, our students succeed in extraordinary ways, ready to share their gifts and talents with the world.

Thank you for your continued support, belief, and partnership as we prepare every student, from VPK through graduation, for a future full of promise.
