Kerbelis Insurance Agency

Kerbelis Insurance Agency in East Oviedo has built a legacy of insurance know-how with more than 30 years of family experience behind it.
A former Farmers Insurance agency, Kerbelis Insurance Agency is now able to offer clients some of the top insurance options for their home and auto policy needs.
The independent agency’s team is made up of Gina Kerbelis; her brother-in-law Michael Kerbelis; Michael’s daughter-in-law, Kyndall Kerbelis; and Gina’s son, Brian Kerbelis. Gina and Michael are co-owners of the agency; Kyndall and Brian are sales agents.
Kerbelis Insurance Agency treats clients like family, too – sharing wisdom about products and best solutions for each situation. The team educates clients by giving them valuable insight about what is happening in the current world of insurance, like explaining the factors that have been driving rising premium rates.
To outsiders, insurance can be confusing. In Florida, a typical home insurance policy covers fire, wind, hail, vandalism, theft, lightning strikes, explosions, and more. Flood insurance is another layer of protection.
The educational approach taken by the Kerbelis team builds trust and in turn generates referrals.
“We know people out there are frustrated with the way rates have gone up,” says Gina.
“It’s all due to fraudulent claims and litigation, which drives up costs for everyone,” she explains. “The industry is making strides in this area, though. We are not seeing the rate hikes we once did.”
The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation monitors the industry and any rate changes with careful oversight.
“It’s not as simple as an insurance company deciding to raise its rates arbitrarily,” says Gina.
In addition to giving its clients upfront answers about cost questions, Kerbelis Insurance Agency offers another important advantage. Kerbelis is an independent agency, not a broker working for other agencies.
That’s valuable when a client’s needs are complex, or when clients want their policies explained face-to-face at a local office by a member of their community. Their team’s office phones even ring right to their cell phones, ensuring efficient service.
