The Learning Experience

“Everybody is equal. All our learning is for everybody,” says William Silva, co-owner of The Learning Experience in Oviedo.
“We feel very, very strongly that enrichment is a part of a well-rounded education,” says William, who is also the school’s director. “This includes different things in addition to basic learning. Everything – music, engineering, a second language – is included in tuition.”
The Learning Experience, an Academy of Early Education, excels in all those areas. The school for infants through preschoolers develops well-rounded students by creating an environment of inclusivity, creativity, stimulation, structure, and fun.
These experiences come in many forms and many languages. A multilingual academy, all preschoolers learn Spanish and American Sign Language. And at The Learning Experience in Oviedo, students also learn some Portuguese, because William is from Brazil.
The school’s proprietary LEAP (Learning Experience Academic Program) approach covers core curriculum such as logic, reading, science, phonics, math, and writing.
Children’s learning is guided by cartoon characters for each element of the curriculum – with the main character being Bubbles, a loveable blue elephant. Bubbles anchors each topic for children and introduces them to his other friends. For example, the concept of philanthropy is represented by Charity Chihuahua and Grace Greyhound. Ping Panda introduces students to the Mandarin culture, and Flex Flamingo is the face of physical fitness.
At The Learning Experience, students in each age group also receive developmentally appropriate learning kits to take home, which cover different areas of enrichment. For example, the preschool Little Musicians kit includes instruments. The Little Engineers kit for preschoolers features tools that encourage problem-solving and perseverance. And the preschool Little Athletes kit includes items that foster the fundamentals of basketball and soccer.
Societal practices are another part of The Learning Experience package, says William. Etiquette, manners, and politeness are taught to all ages.
Not only does The Learning Experience exceed standards set by the Department of Children and Families, says William, it also has a 4.9-star rating from other parents on TheLearningExperience.com website.
“They really like the fact that the director is always here,” says William. “Our communication with parents is excellent. Children get healthy snacks and three daily, fresh meals. It’s super safe, and the building is constantly disinfected.”
With 200 students already enrolled (and just 20 spaces remaining), scheduling a tour soon at The Learning Experience is highly recommended.
