Florida Home Loans

Recognizing the need for a community-minded lender for residential housing, friends and colleagues Jorge Magana and Eric Coleman launched Florida Home Loans in October 2018, finding success as consumer-centric mortgage brokers.
The Longwood-based company serves as a comprehensive mortgage company that works with multiple lenders, assuring that their clients obtain competitive rates and saving them time and money. Eric and Jorge have more than 25 years of combined experience in the business.
“We work for our clients by finding them the best deals,” says Eric, who lives in Sanford. “We form relationships and walk them through the process, making sure that nobody gets left behind.”
The company, which moved into its new building last October and is home to 16 employees, is known for super-fast closings, says Jorge, because of its unique organizational flow and state-of-the-art technology. Florida Home Loans also utilizes the services of United Wholesale Mortgage, the largest wholesale broker in the country, helping to create a faster and easier mortgage process.
“Clients only have to deal with two or three people at most,” explains Jorge, a Longwood resident. “We are not an assembly line.”
The company’s expertise lies in conventional, FHA, jumbo, and VA loans. Its programs allow Florida Home Loans to offer solutions in handling complex loans and cater to first-time homebuyers.
Jorge says today more people are working with local mortgage brokers seeking loans or refinancing as they pursue closer relationships and better rates. The market share for mortgage brokers has risen to 28 percent.
“As brokers, we are not confined to certain mindsets,” says Eric, adding that he and Jorge are sharing their extensive market knowledge with three summer interns from Lake Mary High School – Eric’s alma mater.
In addition, Jorge and Eric are always looking to expand their team of loan officers, noting that the retention rate at Florida Home Loans is 100 percent.
“In six years, no one has left,” says Jorge. “We are a family here.”
