KGV Group of Century 21 Integra Realty
by Laura Breen Galante
Realtor Kristin Green-Vogt at KGV Realty Group (part of Century 21 Integra Realty) has sold more than $407 million in volume in Central Florida during her 10-plus years in the industry. Thanks to her dedicated work ethic and bubbly personality, Kristin has received countless brokerage awards for her expertise in serving both buyers and sellers.
However, this isn’t a one-woman show. Her mother, licensed Realtor Debbie Metzger, is Kristin’s partner and helps guide their team of a dozen agents.
In late 2019, Kristin’s business had flourished to the point where she needed help to take it to the next level. With two young children and a thriving clientele, she had the drive to move forward but needed more hands to make that happen. So, Kristin turned to her mom.
“I thought, ‘If there’s anybody I’m going to trust with my business or my babies, it would be her,’” says Kristin.
Debbie, who had a successful career as a community association manager, gave that up to work alongside her daughter.
“It was scary to leave a job and make the jump,” says Debbie. “I told Kristin that the only way I’d do it is if we were partners and she let me invest.”
The two established a partnership, with separate PLCs (public limited companies), and dedicated themselves to running a successful business together.
Debbie and Kristin have different strong suits, and the combination of their strengths has been a win-win for KGV Realty. You may not see Debbie’s face on social media, but that’s perfectly fine with her.
“That’s not my thing,” says Debbie, who is happy to see Kristin shine in the spotlight.
The Wind Beneath Their Wings
Debbie can be found behind-the-scenes, where she thrives as a coach, mentor, and organizer.
“She really runs the group,” says Kristin, likening Debbie and herself to another dynamic mother-daughter duo. “She’s like our Kris Jenner, honestly. But there is no Kim Kardashian without Kris Jenner.”
Debbie works with the team to encourage and support their many successes and to make sure things run smoothly. She advises the agents on client files, arranges collaborative meetings with vendors, and nurtures the team as only a mother can.
“Sometimes she’s tough, and sometimes she’s nice. She’s always giving us a push to do things that maybe aren’t easy or comfortable,” says Kristin. “She definitely holds us accountable.”
Adds Kristin, “It’s a mom thing. She just has that mother’s intuition to partner in a way to make sure everybody is full and whole.”
For Debbie, it’s also a grandmother thing. She steps up to help with the kids when Kristin needs to be out in the community as the face of KGV Realty Group.
Both driven individuals, Kristin and Debbie work together exceptionally well in both their personal and professional lives. Their collaboration filters down through the entire real estate team, which operates as a well-oiled machine.
“We have a nice synchronization with the whole group,” says Debbie.
When Kristin wins an award, the team shares in her success. Kristin is quick to point out that she has many amazing people in her corner, with Debbie being first and foremost.
“Contrary to what everyone thinks, there’s no way I do all of this by myself,” says Kristin. “Everyone’s always asking, ‘What’s the magic sauce?’ It’s Debbie.”
For her part, Debbie relishes working alongside her daughter and helping their family business grow.
“This is what we’ve built, and this is the life that we want to live,” she says. “We’re lucky and blessed.”
