LBJ Collision

by Kevin Fritz

When it comes to repairing or sprucing up their vehicles, locals know they can turn to the expertise of LBJ Collision in Longwood for exceptional paint and body work. The family-owned business has built a reputation for delivering vehicles that look as good – if not better  – than their original state.

“Our bread and butter is collision repair, and we also offer full paint jobs and restorations,” says owner Lonie Brandon Johnson, who goes by Brandon.

The family aspect of LBJ – Brandon’s initials – includes brother Dylan, father Lonie, and Brandon’s wife Alexis. Family friend Andrew Almendarez manages the shop. Brandon, Dylan, and Andrew all attended Lake Mary High School, and Andrew and Dylan have known each other since middle school.

“We are a company of family and friends,” says Brandon.

Serving the Central Florida area and beyond since 2012,  the company’s reputation for turning out quality work caught on fast and led to last year’s expansion of the shop’s space from 6,000 to 18,000 square feet. The added space allows for ideal working conditions as the crew brings more vehicles inside for repair.

“We have definitely grown in the past few years,” says Brandon. “We ran out of space and added two employees. We’re growing our name in the area.”

Brandon explains that LBJ Collision is not part of a direct repair program for insurance companies – a practice that sets pricing guidelines and can sacrifice quality over quantity. Rather, the company’s success is based on high quality production, working with all insurance companies and backed by lifetime warranties.

The LBJ Collision team is made up of car and truck aficionados who enjoy doing restorations and builds for customers as well as themselves. Some of their special projects have involved restoring the classic and coveted early-model Ford Broncos. LBJ recently put the finishing touches on a 1973 model.

Brandon adds that the company’s success stems from its 10 employees who work as a team to serve a diverse array of customers needing a vehicle restoration, a full paint job, or collision repair.

“We are a hands-on company focused on quality and superior customer service,” says Brandon.
